The city

Along with the innards of the city
I explored yours too.
Every hidden lane, forgotten locality, crumbling wall
I felt them – those damp crevices.
With my bare fingertips, I traced every curve.
The darkest corners, laid bare. Merging.
With my own.

In your darkness, I lost mine.

The city remains. Evolving unwillingly.
Pulling me along. While you change – easily
Your landscapes ever confusing
Like desert dunes.
