Bathing in the sea at midnight I

watched the salty water glow

brighter than starlight.

The moon was drawing

figures in the sky that night.

And your voice

came wafting to me.

I imagined you

in another world

calling out to me from

another planet.

I was an island

that night

out of reach, appreciating

the calm and chaos of the sea

alone…

Why did you simply call?

Darling, why didn’t you come

looking for me?
